Celebrating Thanksgiving: What I'm Thankful for This Year

Hello everyone,

Today is a special day here in America—it’s Thanksgiving! This has always been one of my favorite holidays, and not just because of the delicious food. While gratitude is something we should practice all year round, Thanksgiving shines a spotlight on it, reminding us to pause and reflect on the things we’re truly thankful for.

I make an effort to practice gratitude throughout the year, but today, I want to share my personal list of what I’m especially grateful for this season.

Mental and Emotional Stability

This year, I’m incredibly grateful to feel mentally and emotionally stable. It’s such a gift to wake up each day feeling like myself again. My life feels normal, and I’ve rediscovered a sense of optimism that reminds me of my teenage years. These days, I’m smiling and laughing more, and even on grey days, I can still find the sunshine.

Family Love and Reconnection

I feel so blessed to have parents and grandparents who love and care for me. Our relationships haven’t always been perfect—especially with my parents—but I’m thankful that we’ve grown closer. The rocky times of the past have softened, and it’s a true blessing to enjoy peace and connection with them now.

My Furry Companions

My two cats, Tom and Jack, have been a constant source of joy, laughter, and unconditional love. They bring light into my life, and I’m so thankful for their presence. I miss all the pets I’ve had before them, but I’m grateful that Tom and Jack have continued to brighten my days.

Life’s Everyday Blessings

It may sound simple, but I think it’s important to acknowledge the things we often take for granted. I’m thankful for:

A roof over my head

A comfortable bed to sleep in

Food for every meal

Clean water and the luxury of hot showers

A warm home in winter and a cool space in summer

Indoor plumbing (seriously, how lucky are we?)

The precious gift of life itself

These things may seem basic, but they’re blessings that not everyone gets to experience. It’s easy to forget just how fortunate we are to have these comforts, and I never want to overlook them.

What Are You Grateful For?

Even if it’s not Thanksgiving where you are, I’d love to hear what you’re grateful for this year. Where are you reading from, and what’s on your gratitude list? Let’s share and celebrate the beautiful things in our lives together.

Wishing you all a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
