Planning My Path to Self-Improvement: Future Goals for a Healthier, Happier Life

As of today, I'm proud to share that I've reached an 12-day milestone of being smoke-free. Quitting smoking has actually been easier than expected, and here’s why. My mindset was fully committed to making this change; I prepared myself by using Chantix (generic) and carrying crystals for support. I even wore a binding rune until it naturally wore off, symbolizing my dedication to this journey. Surprisingly, I haven't needed patches or felt any withdrawal symptoms, and I feel just as balanced as I did while smoking. While I manage this major shift, I’m also reflecting on my values, pinpointing other areas for growth, and sketching out a game plan for further self-improvement.

Since moving back to Missouri on December 22, 2022, I’ve made my health my top priority. First, I focused on mental health, and now, nearly two years later, I’m proud to say I’m mentally and emotionally stable. With that foundation, I’ve recently taken on my next challenge: quitting smoking. As I celebrate this milestone, I’m also shifting my focus to improving the quality of my sleep. Though new pillows have eased some discomfort, I still struggle with falling asleep, staying asleep, and dealing with the pain. Using a CPAP machine for my sleep apnea has been helpful, but there’s more work to do. If a new mattress doesn’t resolve it, I’m planning to explore a sleep study before considering medication.

While focusing on improving my sleep, I’m also gearing up for a new chapter in my weight-loss journey. With a gym membership already in place, the next step will be budgeting for gas money each month and building the motivation and discipline to go regularly. I’ve been exploring options for a trainer or fitness program that can offer targeted exercises, though covering the cost will be another budget goal. Beyond health, I’m proud of my financial progress. I’ve managed to build up some savings and have been steadily working on repairing my credit report. Even if these changes feel small, they’re all steps forward, and that’s what matters most. My fibromyalgia so far has been manageable as well.
