I'm a person that likes routines and creating habits. But Sunday is a special day that I tend to dedicate to self care. It makes me feel like I'm starting the week off on a positive note. My routine consists of waking up, taking my medicine, sometimes making a pot of coffee, but then I get into the self care part. Shaving and taking a shower. But over the last few weeks I've incorporated some things like cleaning the bathroom after I shave and before I take my shower. That way it is part of my habit and the bathroom is cleaned weekly instead of every other week or every three weeks. Gross I know, that is why I took a habit I already do and made it an extension of my self care.
By making Sundays my selfcare day it creates a positive feeling to the start of the week and makes my day feel productive. I've also made sure I post here on my selfcare day to not only keep you all updated but to address a topic or something that has peaked my interest.
My habits throughout the rest of the week vary but I try to ensure I do my card pulls and read my horoscope in the mornings before I start my day. Then the rest of the day I do surveys, read my emails, maybe watch tv, play games, and try and enjoy the moment. Something that is part of selfcare I am struggling to add is brushing my teeth daily. I have spent more years than I'd rather admit to not brushing daily. I'm trying to incorporate it but it has been hit and miss.
As far as being productive this last week, it was a struggle even though the sun has been shining every other day. Which is better than grey and fog for two weeks straight almost three. But, I realized waking up at 4 or 5am makes me extremely unproductive for the day. It probably doesn't help that the new medication makes me tired and I give into the tiredness and sleep.
What about you all? What is your current morning routine? How does it make you feel for the rest of the day? Have you tried out any changes to your routine that make you feel lit up, and do you now incorporate those changes on a daily basis?
